Hey! We're RAD! That's right, we are Risen After Death. What is this you ask? We are the youth of Bethpage UMC, and because we believe that Christ died for our sins, rose again, and now is with the Father, we will live each day as if we too are already Risen After Death!

You see, no longer will we live as if this life is all there is for us. No way! We're going to do our best to live out the purpose God has called each of us to live. To live a life that brings God glory and promotes His name and Salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord!

Are You New?

We invite you to join us for some fun, some worship, and some learning on any Sunday night, from 5-6:30PM. You don't have to be a member of the church. You don't have to profess a Christian faith...though of course we hope you will soon! So come on out and join us! We don't charge admission!!!

Bethpage Youth Ministry, or RAD as we like to be called, serves to help develop a genuine faith and love of Jesus Christ in all teenagers that come through our doors. We like to have fun, but we also like to get deep and serious some times. But most of all, we are all about serving Christ, loving others, and helping to develop genuine disciples.

Don't forget about Sunday School!

Your faith and hope are in God. 1 Peter 1:21

Alright, so you've had time to ponder the questions about this month’s Bible verse. What’d you come up with? Well here’s my answers:

For me to put my faith and hope in God means that I know first off that God loves me. He loves you too! There’s nothing we can do to gain or lose His love for us.

So what am I hoping for from God? Salvation, eternal life, and to spend eternity in His presence. These are the things God promises to us, those who put their faith and trust in Him. After this verse, 1 Peter 1:21, we run into the promise in verse 23

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.

For us to be born again means that we have put our faith and hope in the fact that “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). Our faith in hope is that Christ was the sacrifice for our sins that bridged the gap that sin in our lives has caused between us and God. We don’t have to pay the penalty for that, Christ did that for us completely when He died on the Cross. All we have to do is accept this free gift and place our faith in Christ as our Lord and Savior. If we do this we are then made a new creation, and we have since been “born again.”

If you wrestle with this, or have not yet accepted Christ as your savior, or don’t understand all of this, please ask my self, Duane, or Pastor Jeff, and we’ll gladly help you.
